This Modern Love: The Reception Entrance Soundtrack
We wanted to set the tone early on in the night that our wedding was going to be a raging dance party that wasn't set to end until 2am. With this in mind, we spent a lot of time before the wedding figuring out the perfect songs for our parents, bridal party and us to enter the reception to. The songs we ultimately chose got the guests up and out of their seats to cheer each group in--and it was so much fun! All photos by Sarelle Photos.
For our parents we wanted a little throw back to their generation, so chose Marvin Gaye's "Got to Give it Up". Hit play to shake your groove thang!
My parents were bustin' a move during their entrance
I've never seen Mr. M's parents' dance, so this was kind of amazing!
I absolutely love this photo of the parents dancing side by side
Then it was time for the bridal party to make their grand entrance. For them, we chose "Paper Planes" by M.I.A. Now I know this may seem like an old choice, but we've been obsessed with this song for years and it's become a theme song amongst us and our circle of friends. So it was only fitting that we had our closest friends come out to this jam.
GM B.B., BM K, GM B.F. and GM A.M. doing their signature moves
GM Z and BM A.I. got down low for their entrance; GM K and BM M pulled sunglasses out for theirs
BM T, BM R and BM M had a whole skit planned out for theirs--it was hilarious!!
Best Man M and MOH N closing out the bridal party entrance in style
And finally it was our turn. Again, since "Paper Planes" is our anthem, we decided to use a song that sampled it at our favorite part. So we choose "Swagga Like Us" by T.I. DJ Yo-C transitioned so perfectly between the two songs that I almost had the urge to run up and hug him during our entrance. It was so BAD ASS.
